The question I need answered from this forum is what do I need to be legal in California on a stand up jet ski? Come on some of you think back to your younger less lazy days when you weren't to fat and out of shape to ride a stand up and ANSWER MY QUESTION pleasssssssse

You don't have to do anything special to ride stand up in California in most lakes. Some lakes ban 2 strokes not just stand up. Also, Calif has banned selling new (2-stroke) skis for "almost" 10 years now. Just buy an used one and go riding where they allow 2-stroke skis.

I can't stand how anal california is about emissions restrictions. First they kill the muscle car in the 70s, then 2 strokes, then 4 strokes even are too loud and they have their own california models that are more restricted.. I think california is a cool place but everything and its brother is known to cause cancer, in the state of california. And it seems everything is becoming illegal there. That is probably the only reason I couldn't live there.

Except Lake Taho, it should be OK.

You can ride and even register new two stroke skis in ca you just can't buy them here. You can pretty much ride anywhere with the exception of a few lakes.
