Someone somewhere makes steering hole covers. I picked up a carbon fiber one made for a GPR from a board member in the 2-stroke forum. It fits the gp12 just fine. I am pretty sure I snagged the last one and it was over a year ago. When I bought my ski, the previous owner had a piece of plastic like material that he had cut out, it looked good but it was glued on pretty good so when i tried to install my UMI steering it had to rip it off.

Someone was making a nice billet yamaha "tuning fork" cover. Not sure who it was though. Others cut out their own Lexan pieces to fit and paint them or whatever.

Anyone have pics of the covers? I'd like to try to make one too.

This is the plastic one I was referring to. My CF cover has an open slot from the center to the outside about 2 inches wide. Kind of Pacman style, but the lines are tangent to the center hole and parallel if that makes sense.

Notice the split between the two holes

So you basically have the piece split so you bend/slide it on, and then glue it in place?

Basically, that's how it was when I bought it. It is pretty flexible material but it was not able to be saved when I pulled it off. It stuck to the adhesive and had to come off in parts. The new cf piece I have is more of a C that just slides on.
