    Premium fuel?

    i was reading a thread a few days ago and someone mentioned that a 96 xp can run on 87 gas. is that for a stock motor? i dont know if mine are stock. i think they are. they have 170 psi + or - 2 or 3 psi. i've been puttin premium in them!

    im not going to say run 87, because if any problems happen right after that youll blame me and the fuel haha . but i have a 00 xp and i don't allways run premium . i can't tella diffrence.

    your engines do not need premium...it actually can damage these engines. use 89 and call it a day

    150psi is stock, 170psi he needs premium. I would say run 87 on a stock motor because you'll make more power. this is a proven fact you want to run the lowest octane you can with out detonation.

    I went from 87 to 93 n back to 87 couldnt tell a lick of difference .. Plus seadoo reccomends 87 and since its cheaper i just use 87

    i agree with you on running the lowest octane that is possible without pinging. its a common misconception that higher octane means more power. not true. i think i'll run 89 and that should be cool. i dont remember why i was using 91. someone must've told me that i need to. maybe the guy i bought them from. i dont have owners manuals.so if i got 170 compression are you thinkin my motor isnt stock? could they have heads milled or high comp. pistons? i've only had them 1 year so who knows what was done to them. if the motor starts pinging is it really noticeable. i've heard alot of engines ping, but not a seadoo. thanks for the info.
