Which waverunner comperable to the Sea-doo GTI?

My folks are looking at skis now, and dad got a decent OTD quote on a pair of Sea-doo GTI 130s on a trailer.
I told him to also consider waverunner, but didn't know which model to steer him towards. Best I can tell the VX is in the same price range, but can't find any compairos.
One thing cool about the Sea-doo is the closed cooling system, but I told him the Waverunners are legendary for reliability.

Id say the VXs /VXr (1800 cc) would be the closest to compare....just remeber the VXs/r are bare bones skis, a lot less bells and whisltes, but that means a lot less things to go wrong with it, no supercharger worries, less fuel burn.....etc.......same with the FX HOs.....more bells and whistles then the VXs/r.....

The more I ride my VXs the more I like it, its just a good basic ski.....More like what a Personal Water Craft should be in my opinion..............

Nothing wrong with Yamaha's open loop cooling........infact alot less to go wrong. Yamahas are built to handle salt water.......more so then seadoo IMHO.

he's getting 2 sea-doos for a pretty good price. they seem like really cool skis. I think he may be set on them. I did try and steer him towards the yamaha though. I hope they don't outrun my FX140 too bad, they're only rated at 130hp, even though they're 400cc bigger XD

Here's some reading for the folks. The GTI 130 has a review on there as well. Both top out at 54-55
