    300X question?

When the bypass is installed does the speedo wheel need to still be reading ? i was asking this as i plan to retro fit riva's 250/260 Ride plate since this plates are known for great speed gains on top..

For your dash meter to display the speed reading, the speedo wheel still has to spin and send a signal to the meter.
How do you plan to install the speedo wheel to your Riva 250/260 ride plate?

I was just asking to figure out if the OP has any idea how the system works and what to about the potential speedo display issue.

i got some speed out of it, just didnt know if the speedo wheel has to be spinning at some rate to not mess with the ecu. tried to ask riva if you even need the speedo at all when you run their bypass since they sell their 300 rideplates with a speedo blockoff... leading me to assume at some point they believe you wont need the speedo... but got no real answer from them

Thanks Mike, was this Riva's 260 plate ??? bolts right up to the 300 and retains all functionality except the speedo correct ?? I work in a machine shop so I could modify a 260 plate to accept the 300x speedo and keep it in the stock location. I'm really surprised someone didn't have a plate in the works and ready to go for the launch of the 300..

I had the Riva plate on my 250 for about a day and sold it the next. I did see their claimed 2 mph it was definitely faster, but it ruined the rough water characteristics and hook up that made the 250 so great, I'm thinking the Riva plate on the 300 would be a good combination because the 300 has trim and you would be able to adjust for the water conditions.
