    Grinding rear of intake grate

    Can grinding the rear of the intake grate to a slope to the transom cause a buck?

    If it changes the way the water flows it is possible that yes it can cause a buck.
    Is this in the inside David or the outside because it it is the outside you do not want it to slope you want it squared of so the water can rush past the transom, Because if you sloped it it goes up and hits the transom.

    On the outside. I had some brilliant idea one day that I don't recall and did this (probably involved Corona). Their is a slight angle about 3/4 of an inch wide across the back. Trying to figure out why this thing is so squirrelly and that is probably a good candidate.
    What I probably ended up doing in reality was provide a way for water to try to be forced into the transom.

    That was the exact thing i was thinking David that water is being forced in between the transom and the rear of the shoe an causing a bucking issue.
