    1996 GSX: Bog at WOT

I just finished replacing all the fuel lines on a 96' GSX with 787cc motor. I also rebuilt the carbs (changed filters, diaphram, gaskets, etc) but did not change out the high or low speed needle gaskets. The carb is tuned as it was before I changed everything (never probably tuned).

The ski is running way better, with the power no longer surging up and down. Unfortunately, the only issue I have is at WOT it bogs a bit but does not die. Its almost like 80% throttle and 100% are the same because 100% isnt getting full power.

I'm wondering what to check next and if I really need to re-tune the carbs.

    Thanks for any advice!!

did you clean the fuel selector? I would also pull the carbs again and clean the screens one more time. did you change out the needle and seats too? if not you need to.

I have the exact same ski and had the exact same problem a few weeks back! Turns out it was the fuel selector switch..check that and clean/replace it. Fixed my problem!

Cleaned selector and the filters were actually replaced. Do you think they are re-clogged after running it even with new lines?

Got it!!! The selector was clean BUT the stops are busted so it was turned past the selection. I'm gonna replace the selector just for the hell of it, but its running like new and reaching 7010rpm which from memory is about where you want to be.

    Thanks for the help!!
