    Supercharger bearing failure 55hrs

so one of the bearings failed in the supercharger.... i have the supercharger off and the intake manifold and the oil pump near the gas tank off. the supercharger did touchdown on the housing and one bearing is shot. i found most of the bearing at the screen for the oil pump. my main question is how much more should i take apart? what else should i look for? any help or suggestions would be great. thanks

If anything went through the front oil pump.... you need to clean out the lower case, pto cover, and inspect the rear oil pump components, flywheel gears, and the magneto for any damage. I would also consider replacing the timing chain.

You can remove the pto without pulling the engine bro. There is a guide or two here.
Better to remove it though if you have the ability

What do your front oil pump components look like? Have you found all the bearing balls, and whats left of the cage?

i found six of the balls most of the cage and some metal fragments that im guessing are part of the bearing race. the oil pump looks pretty good there is a small amount scarring on the oil pump housing but its very light. i sucked all the oil out of the motor and its clean. looks like the oil pump screen got all of the debris except the very tiny stuff.

i didnt know we could lose bearings in the engine as well. dang seems like the sc is a major weak link in an otherwise strong engine

ouch was that from the bearing freezing up ? does this happen more with the old style oil sprayer or better yet does the 08 oil sprayer help combat this ?
