Rubber padding / rubber sleave on rear pull-down step

The rubber on my pull-down (climb aboard) step is long gone. I have tried pipe insulation with unsuccessfull results.

Has anyone repaired or replaced theirs with satisfying results? What did you do ?

(I don't want to replace the whole step)

Don't know what kind of ski you have, but Aqua performance makes the boarding steps for most pwc manufacturers. They offer a service where you can send the bar in to be recovered, or you can order the rubber sleeve for $12+9 shipping and do it yourself.....
