the fate of tha polaris ?

looking thru tha threads an stuff iv noticed alot of engine problems ?

even with carefull maintence an operation can you still have that 200 hr motor ?

with parts harder an more expensive 2 find is it better 2 upgrade an get a new ski with a warrenty .

2 bad polaris doesnt have a 2007 model comeing out

I have to say that I disagree with this. Somehow Polaris got this reputation of being not so dependable, and I just haven't seen it with the machines that are taken care of properly.

I can't speak for them all but the 900 triple and the 1050 triple that I had were bullitproof.
The relialbility problem came from the poor efi system they had on some of them.

The Fuji 780 is incredibly reliable as is the carbureted Domestic engine.
TRhed injection system did have some bug to work out but in 04 the system works killer minus the TPS sensor.
The older Fuji's had issues with the pump and HATED ingesting water. Take care of those items and they are extremely reliable as well.

Do remember one other thing about most visitors to the site, they are here because they have a problem. The guys with no problems or a local dealer/independent to service their needs and or perform routine maintenance usually won't be here unless they are just looking for general information or conversation.

Of course you do get the guys that are looking for mods and just to generally talk Polaris but it's usually those with issues that find us first.

The only problem with that motor is that once in a while you would get a lean condition in the mag cylinder.

In my opinion, I don't think parts are hard to find and I believe they will be able to be had for years to come. In the past year I have completely refinished my '98 Sltx and '99 X-45...I gutted them out to the bare hull/deck, had them refinished and put them back together. I was able to get just about every part I needed direct from Polaris. The only things I wasn't able to get was some of the stock decals and the stock rub rails for the Sltx...I ended up using the stock stuff for the '96 Sltx which they still had. Other than for some esthetic stuff like decals, you should be able to get any part for your watercraft for a long time. If Polaris dosen't have it, then a salvage yard will or you will be able to replace it with an aftermarket part of some sort. So I wouldn't worry to much about getting parts.
