I have to laugh at this.

I was out with my friends yesterday riding. One of them, on his SLT 780 decided it would be fun to put it in reverse and run it wide open. It is pretty funny seeing the wate shoot out the sides of the pump. Then all of a sudden he says "my reverse doesn't work any more." We pull it up to shore, and it turns out he snapped the reverse bucket right off the pump!!!!! I just had to laugh. So anyways, I am looking for a reverse bucket for my friend. Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price?

I expect John Zigler would have a bunch available.

I wonder if the newer design reverse buckets would fit?
Virage/Genesis/MSX and possibly some other models use the wide 'double horn' style, rather than the narrow old style bucket.

The newer double horn style would be a very nice upgrade if it will fit. I've found my '94 and '96 SLT's tend to cavitate in reverse.

The Virage, Genesis and MSX all limit RPM when in reverse. This reduces ventilation (air bubbles) of the water feeding into the jet pump intake by reducing the engine power to a reasonable level.

You may actually get more reverse thrust with reduced engine power.

If you want to get fancy perhaps you could rig the reverse mechanism to add a ground switch to the Tan/gray wire and limit engine power when not in forward mode.

John only has the newer style available. I thought the newer style bucket needed a different cable throw to work.
