Ocean Pro Racing or Ocean plate?? riders opinions

I have a stock 94 sl 750 and have done alot of researching on here and alot of people are happy with there Ocean Pro ocean plate, but havn't heard much on the racing plate they also offer. Are there significant inprovments with the racing plate as far as porpoising just not as much as the ocean plate? My buddy i ride with is just a little faster than me and id rather not loose a little more speed that the ocean plate does.

The ocean plate may make you slightly slower on glass, but might allow you to ride faster across chop. If you want to keep your speed, you could try the racing version or a slx plate and add sponsons. I was curious to see how much difference sponsons made, so I removed them from my sl900. The ride was awful and I promptly put them back. Might be worth adding them.

The R plate is a good improvemnt over the stock short plate for sure.

Faster planing, better tracking/control, and reduced porpoising. Also allows you to still keep the playful nature of the ski.

You can get the Polaris ones from an SLT, or the larger ones from an SLX. The SLX sponsons are more aggressive and won't let you spin out like you can without them. But they will let yyou make hard fast turns without losing the back end of the ski. Smaller SLT sponsons may still retain the playful nature of the hull.

I ended up buying the ocean pro racing plate, and took it out yesterday for the first time and it made a good improvment over stock for sure. It will still porpoise a little bit in waves, but its alot better than stock, adjusting the trim will pretty much get rid of it all together. it does track better when driving straight, turns better, and plains faster. I did notice is took off a couple mph tho, 2-3 mph i would say. With the stock plate it would go 58mph on mfd stock, and now the best i can see is 55-56. Im glad i bought the racing and not the ocean plate for what i like to do, i can still do 360's but i just have to be going a little faster for it to kick out.

I'm surprised you said you lost MPH with it.

You actually should have gained speed in rougher conditions now though, over the stocker.

I barely lost anything on my SL 650 with the O version. I'm also surprised you lost speed with the R version.
