    Ultra 150 little to no compression

    Well I am brand new to the site. I just bought a 2001 Ultra 150. It had 88 hours and I put 10-15 hours on it so far. I was riding the other day and it just stopped on me. I got it running again and putted back to the boat. I pulled the plugs and the #3 cylinder looked grayish wet. So tonight I check compression and I am showing 0 in #3, 25 in #2 and 30 in #1. Any thought? I am thinking head gasket but keep reading story after story about rings and pistons. Ughhhh this sucks!

    Thanks for any help!

    overheated and stuck the rings on all pistons, water feed from pump restricted somewhere, pull the head to confirm.

    Wow! I'm impressed. I didn't think it would even start with compression that low.

    Is your compression gauge good?

    I guess? I rented one from Auto Zone.

    I was under the same thought, I never expected it to start let alone run with compression like that.

    I am very new to the 2-strokes so any input is great. I am going to pull the head off tonight.

    Your battery is fully charged for the compression test correct? Is this oil injected or premix? I fried my middle cylinder 2 Winters ago on my 900STS when it stopped serving the middle cylinder oil (tripple carb). Aaaah, she needed a fresh new short block anyway!

    Well the battery seems to be ok. It is injected. I am hoping it is nothing that bad! I only paid $1750 with the trailer so I can afford to put some money in it.

    @steve45 and yankee

    My thoughts exactly, I'd check that compression again to be sure. Anyways, white smoke tells me that there's water in there somewhere, which is typically a head gasket failure. Regardless, the head has to come off, so you might as well check it out.
