Driveshaft is wrong, carbon seal nightmare part II

Tried to get a head start by getting the shaft/c-clip/seal/hat put together when I found the hat doesn't slide back. After looking I found the driveshaft is wrong. The splines engage the PTO and the prop, length is the same but the it's thicker down the middle. I looked up OEM part numbers and the 05 has different part number for the shaft, c-clip, carbon seal and hat than 06. Hard to see but it's noticeable the lip on the new vs old which is where the hat stops by making hard contact.

I got the shaft from Paul Pham and he swore it was for an 05 RXT, there are no part numbers anywhere in the shaft.

Can someone identify this shaft? Anybody in central Florida with old 06 hat laying around I can use for testing? I'm tired of spending money I don't have and don't want to guess and order parts to match the shaft for 06 and then be wrong again.

05 rxt is smaller than 06+...
you can run the 06 shaft. But, you will need all 06 parts. (bellow boot, carbon ring, top hat, ect...)

So you are saying, this is in fact an 06 shaft? I can't go ordering stuff hoping it is the right stuff. Funny enough, I sent back the SF bellows band because it didn't fit the bellows for 05. Go figures.

His ski is an 05 RXT, the shaft he has is an 06. The 05 carbon ring will fit as they are all uniform for the 4 tecs. The difference in the rxt's was the 04 and 05 bellows, shafts, collars and o-rings.
