2000 Polaris SLH 700 twin over voltage alarm if I rev the motor up.

Had the ski out today had a problem with a alarm on the display saying over voltage.
Its fine at idle but alarms out once you start going. I towed it back just to make sure it would be fine. Anyone know why it might be doing it? I had it out a few days ago at it was fine.

    Thanks

Towed it back? Did you clamp off the water feed hose before towing? Or tow very slowly?

If you have not yet run the engine since towing, take the spark plugs out and check for water spray when cranking. Do NOT try to start it before taking the spark plugs out first.

If engine is not wet inside, good.

Over voltage alarm probably means the LR voltage regulator module has failed.

It could be caused by a poor electrical ground or other bad connection, but I suspect the LR module is the problem cause. It is located inside the electrical box, and it has a Yellow wire among others.

Where can I find a LR module? What dose it do? Can it be safely operated as is?

The LR is the voltage regulator-rectifier. Also powers other stuff when engine is running.

No, do not use it this way,you could damage the entire electrical system.

It is located in the elect box, bolted under the front of the elect board, square black box, about 2 inch x 3 inch.
