    ok wiring issues

i was on my 94 sl 650 today everything went good then boom iT just quit. wouldnt start back up so got a tow back.

took the seat off and it had melted some of the wires that go to the front of the ski. idk which ones yet. haven't had time to look but its not the stator wires - one of the sets that come out of the bottom of the cdi box.

Any ideas why it would do that ?

You sure it isn't the stator wire bundle that melted?

Did the electrical box shell touch the battery posts?
Was the plastic battery cover in place?

ok i was wrong it was the staor bundel it fired one wire about halfway up the harness idk witch one yet cuz im just so mad at the moment i dont even wanna look at it. man if it not one thing its another. what could cause it to do that. the battery cover is fine no holes there maybe over time the wired rubed a hole in the jacket and toched idk or are these things known for that i mean it is a 94.. but i been trying to get my pro 785 going but i cant when every few times i ride this ski something happens. i have half the mind to sell it so i can get my pro going but i was going to give this ski to the wife since she does not need the power of a pro 785 anyways

Check the ground connection from the black negative battery cable. If that connection is bad it can cause problems.
