10 Hour Service @ the Stealership

How much did you guys pay for your 10 hour service? I hit 12 on my Ski this weekend and need to take it in this week. Just curious as the dealers around here are known for their high priced rates.....

I took mine to stealer for 10hr service and told them to throw in a fresh set of plugs while it was there and they charged me $180. I told the stealer he might want to take a picture of the ski when he was finished. When he asked why I replied "because your never going to see it here again".

My stealer charged me $201 out the door(tax, etc) and they also replaced the oil filter as I(and them) felt the call from Yamaha on keeping the original one was retarded. My plugs were fine, there was no need to replace them.

    OMG
Over $180? Dealers charge less than that to change the oil in a 2008 Carrera and that is 9 qts of oil
It's a 10 minute job so you can't say you don't have time!

you guys ought to get the service manual for 75ish bucks... $41 for Amsoil synthetic marine oil, $5.99 for the oil extractor tool at harbor freight, $12 for k&n filter, and I think it was about 8$ for a tube of yamalube...took about an hour, followed the checks in the service manual, done.
I highly suggest for the DIYers to put some anti-sease on the plugs as they are in dry.

I am not afraid to work on the ski myself... Have rebuilt plenty of engines in my day. However, I can see taking this VXR in with a grenaded motor trying to cash in on my 3 Year warranty and having the Service Guy start laughing when I can't prove the maintance was done.....

I figured if I got the 10, 50, ect. services done at the dealer I would be Covering my butt!
