my question/concert is how to connect it to my garage? I have a 10ft ceiling and it is sheet rocked can I attach it to one stud with a lag bolt? Or do i need to run a 2X6 so I can bolt to a few studs? anyone have pictures of there install? the last thing I want is a motor to fall on my ski thanks

Mine is hangind off of a choker strap wrapped around a 2X6 in the attic.
My ceiling is open in my garage.
For a 10' ceiling, I would see if you could set up a brace in the attic with a 2-2X6's nailed together, run them across two joists. lay the grain where the 2X6 is on its end for strength.
I store the chain over the 2X6 to keep it out of the way. I go up in the attic and drop it down when I need it.

I am sure there are some others who will chime in for other ideas

Here are some pics of mine, its come in very handy

Looking from the ground up ^

Thanks for the quick reply, I cant get above the garage because my bedroom is above it (its a townhouse) do you think I could nail two 2X6's together and then use lag bolts to attach then to two studs from the bottom side?

Amsoil, I have one of those at work. I'ts designed to hang from a pipe.

I Think you will be fine with a 2x6, or better yet, a 1/4" steel plate bolted to a few beams. The motor isn't that heavy. . .

I thought for the price it was a better deal than the chain.
