How To: Make A Oil Filter Cover Removal Tool
Oil Filter Cover Removal Tool
Parts - Standard Dent Puller $10
¼ inch screw 1 ½” long, ¼” locknut, nylon washer
Round off the head of the screw so that it fits into the nut of the dent puller.
Put the nut on the dent puller with the screw inside.
Tighten the dent puller nut.
Put the nylon washer on the screw then put the nut on.
Grind the points off the nut until it fits through the oil filter cover. Make it a snug fit.
If the nylon washer is hanging out pass the nut grind that down to the size of the nut.
I made mine with the oil filter cover removed, you can do it with it on just clean before inserting through the hole while trying to get it to fit.
Use: Remove Hex Screw, Insert Your Oil Filter Cover Removal Tool through the filter cover hole, hold it to one side, slide the weight up slowly only tapping it lightly, then move it to the opposite side of the hole and do the same the cover will pop right off.
