Has anyone ever polished the stator fins in an RXP??

Just a thought, I was putting in a new wear ring and I noticed how rough the stator fins are behind the impeller, has anyone ever smoothed them out with better results? or just leave them alone?

    thanks,

Yes, it has been done. Another member sanded them to make them sharp. I will find the thread.

Really? Out of the pump? I don't think so. It is what holds the bearings, shafts, etc. I highly doubt they remove them. They probably remove the fins in the venturri which hinders performance.

I had a large amount of casting imperfections. A porting tool and a lot of sandpaper later, that was taken care of... Then I noticed the fins weren't sharp. They aren't razors now, but are much smoother and transition well. It has to flow better, right? Hopefully there was a performance gain!
