    best paint match

Had the misfortune of striking a submerged pole at high tide on the weekend. Tore through the outer hull but the inner hill is undamaged. I have to paint after glassing the hull repair and am looking to see what is the best colour match using awlgrip paint.

Have the White/Carbon/Blue FX140 Cruiser. I am tempted to paint the entire bottom hull super jet black if I cant find a perfect match with the top hull. Sadly no pictures of the damage since my fone is at the bottom of the sea after the upset.

I'm going with the Super Jet Black AWLGRIP then, at least I wont be looking at a two tone white machine....the awlgrip is supposed to plenty durable and my glassman works with it all the time so it should come out right...I hope!

Most shops nowadays have special cameras that will take a "picture" of your paint 3 times, and take the averages of the 3 and come up with a color match. Considering you have a thick black rail seperating the two surfaces, you would not be able to tell even if its a shade or so off. I had this done at my work and color matched perfectly and I did spot painting all over the ski. Or, go with the black if youd rather. :P

Thanks for the reply UPGRADED...sadly, when it comes to marine quality paint...none of the local shops in the Bahamas has that capability, I have to go and buy the stuff that they have on the shelf. They do have 6 different shades of white, but matching those up wet versus dry would be a nightmare. Hopefully the black will come out decent but I will need new rubrails since they are grey now to complete the look.
