    Angry New wear ring problems

O.K. So I needed to buy a new wear ring....I got one off Ebay "first mistake" then proceeded to install it. The clearance is double what my worn ring was.
I then demand my money back from the supplier, and he agreed that there was a problem "fair enough". So now I decide to get an OEM ring locally. I drive an hour to get it, and they assure me this is the ring I need.....take pump apart again, and guess what? The clearance is wrong again!! WTF!! at this poilnt I just flipped my old one around, and that is working great.
Can anyone fill me in on what the heck the deal is?
The new OEM one was part # 267000372 "it's kinda gray in color"

You have the correct part number wear ring (for RXP 215/255/260), try sticking the wear ring in the freezer for an hour and then try re- installing.
You might loose mph if you keep the old worn wear ring in.

The new ring had a larger inner diameter than my old one. With both rings out of the pump, I put the old ring over the impeller and had a little play when moving the ring back and forth. The new ring had much more play.

If you are talking about just enough "play" that the new ring still has to be somewhat forced in by hand (wiggled back and forth at a minimum to seat), the guys at SBT told me that you can put a bead of instant gasket around the outside of the ring prior to insertion, then wipe off excess as it spooges out. The one tech I spoke to said he does this on his own skis and it works fine? Input?

I'm talking about the clearance between the prop and the ring "the inner diameter". The outside diameter or "pump contact side" is fine.
Am I the only one running in to this problem?

I installed a grey oem one in my ski and all is well. Actually prefer it over the old white ones. Installing the wear ring in the pump will tighten the clearance a bit.

What was your clearance after installation?
