    ring gap...clearence WSM 1mm over PLEASE HELP

    I had cylinders bored out for new pistons and I think that the machinest messed up and bored one too big.. I have 120 in front and 90 in rear cylinder...the 90 psi cylinder moves inside the cylinders...the 120 psi is tight and dont move...

    i dont know what the clearence and ring gap was on WSM 1mm over if any one knows let me know please so i can go to get HIS mistake fixed!!!

    I would first check that both pistons are indeed the same size. I believe the wsms are stamped on the top. Then I would measure each piston and cylinder. I believe spec for ring end gap is .010 to .018. Check that as well. It is possible that you were sent 2 different size pistons. Measuring everything will tell you where the error is.

    both say 1.0 on top...just think he didnt check BOTH pistons and just went off one and did both the same

    They shouldnt be that far off. My guess is that he bored the same and one piston may be mislabeled. The only way to know for sure is to measure them.

    where would i find that piece of paper that had the numbers on it? is that anywhere online?

    polaris wsm 650 750 780 .0045-.005 wall clearance on piston only 700-900-1050 is .006 - .007 check piston only without rings

    i found the WSM 2011 catologe bottom page 5..and it says www.wsm.fr


    .010-.022 ring gap

    cylinder clearance .004~ .0045
