    1200 Unported Cold Weather Test

My 1200 was spinning my Dyna Fly 14/20 @ 7340 Saturday morning. I've got some hull drag issues. I have put the 14/24 in it. I'm going to do a little hull clean up and a few other things and see what she'll give. The main differences will be:

    Re-jet choke plates removed
compression numbers upped from 130 to 150
    14/24 instead of 14/20

    This is the set-up:

    2000 GP1200R
    1. 1200cc
    2. Stock Carbs rejetted without chokes 125 mains
    3. 14/24 DF
    4. Superman
    5. 800 grate
    6. No porting
    7. 150 psi heads
    8. Less than 1/4 tank of fuel
    9. trim neutral
    10. Stock sponsons stepped
    11. No impeller cone
    12. Stock ignition
    13. NGK BR8EV Plugs gapped at .040" indexed
    14. Jetworks flow control Fercho Style
    15. Free Flow
    16. VF3's
    17. Prok F/A's no outerwears
    18. Gas Valves
    19. 225 pound rider
    20. 85 mm nozzle bilge removed/visibility spout removed holes filled and smoothed out

I think I'm going to pull some big numbers. I'll probably run this test between Christmas and New Years.

    What Yall think

Hull is all sweetened up, 14/24 is in. Now its time to lift the seat. I may make it out earlier.

Just looking at what my motor did when I pitched up 1 degree, I would assume he has the power to turn it. I suspect that RPM's will be in the 7070-7180 range in this cool weather.....dunno.....its alot or prop....but, its worth the effort. Just watch the RPM's closely.

His boat and mine are about 99% identical now, compression and all.

If this pans out, I'll be knocking down somebody's door for a second prop !!

My biggest curiosity is the midrange powerband....will it flatten out or get lazy.

Spud, too bad you can't get to the water any sooner !

Its a lot of work cleaning everything up again. I thought I was done under the hull but I didnt like the rounded edges on thetrailing edge of the tabs and plate so I got them all razor sharp now. That means I need to refill all the holes. Oh well I want it right. The seat wont come off for a couple more days.

OK this thread has a listing of the mods done to the ski. 77.8 best all time numbers.

This ski is probably a good 75 mph all weather rec ski, with a 77.8 low fuel superman overpitched prop cold as shidt run in it

I am as happy as a teenager in love with the town trolip.
