After having a bear of a time installing a single cylinder in an '01 GP1200R I was not looking forward to re-setting the block on a '98 XL1200 with motor still in boat. Thought about buying piston ring compressor but where's the fun in that? Unsuccessfully tried using aluminum can sleeves then my wife suggested plastic tennis ball containers. Cut top and bottom then slit down side, they're even indented at the top making it easy to start. Staggered pistons, had sleeve openings facing front of ski and slid cylinder block right down in place. A little redneck engineering, huh?
