    2002 Polaris Virage 701 cc

I removed the fly wheel and need to remove and replace the bendix gear. However, it seems that is does not want to come out. Do I need to remove the fly wheel in order to remove the bendix? I thought I read that it would come out...problems help!! Also, check this out. I had the battery disconected as I replaced my starter. I reconnected the battery and now my hours are reading 553.5 instead of the 74.5 I had on the ski .... what happened?? Any ideas as to why and how to correct? Thanks!!
