Unhappy How to get better gas mileage on a 260

i have my 260 with a taste of mods of on it, but i noticed that it eats gas like a mofo. i just filled up the tank today and 2 hours of riding and its bassiclly drained. the mile marker on the ski i reset everytime i fill up reads only 39.8 miles when i went dry. my average speed was only 27 mph so idk why im consuming so much fuel.

that is half the economy that you can get.
If you were wot then those figures seem right.
Have you stuck your head in the hull and smelt for a fuel leak?

On my 260, I can get around 73 - 74 miles per tank.
If you lay off the throttle.
To get good economy, keep the boost gauge under 5.
That still makes for around 6 hours on the water with a couple of rest stops.
And a couple of wot runs, and you can still get that much out of a full tank.
When I say full tank, I mean fill it to the cap.
Also use the highest octane fuel available to you.

Do compression test/leak down test to check your piston ring conditions.

with a good dose of cruising and WOT I only got about 35-45 miles before the buzzer on my 250. And thats about what i'm getting with my 300.

You guys have your milage. WRONG
why do I say this !!!!

A 250/60 can , does do the LB2cat race at WOT THE WHOLE WAY
    That's 60 miles at WOT
The 300 will run short by a few miles if held WOT in race conditions.

My pulley , piston 250 x will do 60 miles.

So something don't add up , unless you spend all your time going round in circles and not forwards

What your not taking into account is holeshots, LB2CAT has 2, once at the start and once to re-fuel at the turn bouy. Besides WOT i'm going to say holeshots eat fuel worse than anything. I'm sure I could get 50 miles before the buzzer on my 300 but that is going to be with nothing but solid cruising at around 35-40 and no boost on the gauge. If your doing jack rabbit starts all day long it's going to kill the mpg
