99 gp800 engine blown
Ok so, I'm on my first big trip with the 800. I was out having some fun driving normal. All of a sudden I lost thrust, I heard something clank. I stopped, killed the engine and opened the seat. A little smoke puffed out, I tried to crank and it would just clank.
Towed in and finally on the trailer I opened her up and pushed on the piston with a pen. Piston one was solid, Np. Piston 2 dropped like a rock into the engine. I blew the engine.
So pretty much I'm asking what are my options?
Repair it via a shop?
Sell add is and buy something else?
What's my best bet??

do you have any mechanical ability? If you do you should consider rebuilding it yourself because thats and easy engine to pull. If not then just try to get some estimates on rebuilding it. If you try to sell it you won't get much for it with a blown motor...

I have limited mechanical ability with engines. It look fairly easy to pull. I'll get some estimates first, if the prices are high Ill give it a shot my self
