    for the not mechanically minded!

I have been asked these questions more than once from non members.
Please get on and put my opinion straight or add to it.

How do you ride back to ramp if you find these issues whilst on the water, and cant get a tow? Or do any of these issues mean absolutely tow only.

    • Belt breaks - disconnect hose from s/c to inter cooler, cruise home
    • charger seizes - disconnect hose from inter cooler to throttle body, cruise home
    • flat battery
    • shaft and bearing explode
    • steering cable snaps
    • find milky water in oil
    • oil level rises extremely high
    • loose a bung or two - jam a cork or have spare bungs.
Please add more questions if you have them.

•Belt breaks - disconnect hose from s/c to inter cooler, or t/b to i/c cruise home
•charger seizes - as above and remove belt
    •flat battery - roll start
•shaft and bearing explode - tow or sink it
•steering cable snaps - rope/wire/straps bit of imagination will get it working
•find milky water in oil - tow or sink it
•oil level rises extremely high - surely you have checked this before going out on the water.
•loose a bung or two - jam a cork or have spare bungs, bit of imagination jam whatever you can find in there.
ok just reread thread if you cant get a tow guess only option is to sink it or try your best for a tow

if you had leads and a second ski. Can you jump start the battery like a car? or will it spike and stuff ecu?
If your ski is insured and you think the engine is stuffed, then the best advise is crack the hull on a rock and sink it.

Im not edidting it, because that's what I was asked.
The guy wanting me to answer these questions. Carries on board - first aid kit, several tools, but doesn't know how to use them, 30 meters of rope, V sheet and mirror, emergency phone numbers for every rescue in OZ, Camera, muesli bars and extra water it break down, extra sunscreen,2 x towels, camel pak. who knows what else.
So if you said yes to jumper cables then they will be purchased.

Some questions may sound stupid, but they still need answering.

i meant edit the bit where you were advising to crack the hull and sink the ski would hate that information to get into the hands of your insurer and be used against you at a later date if anything was to happen to your ski. but thats your choice
looks like your mate is well prepared then mabe he needs the kitchen sink i didnt see that listed lol

Ok sorry i get it now.
As far as my insurer goes, they can go to hell.
    That means you SPT.
I personally wont be insuring my ski anymore. Or any future ski's for that matter.
