yep stuck again fellas
ok in the process of puttin the engine back together. (polaris slx 1050 1999) i have replaced the bendix, starter, and the guy that had it before me put a aftermarket cdi and stator, and it has not been started since. so here is my question, i still have the engine on the bench, and have yet to start it, how to you set the time on it, i have the manuel, but it kinda reads like u have to have the engine running while its out of the boat is this true? i am not sure which cdi and stator the previous owner installed but he told me it was a "performance" one, and i do not think he new much about mechanical work at all. i have ran into many chop jobs this guy did. anyways any help on how to do the timing?

If nobody beats me to it, I'll post how to static time the domestic engine in the tech section. It'll be under Engines-Domestic.
