Not seeing enough RPM (08 RXT)

    Hey guys,

I just picked up a pre owned 2008 RXT, 24 hours on the machine. Took it out for the first time today, and it struggles to hit 7800rpm, mostly around 7700-7740. Where should I start to figure out what my problem is? I dont think i should have any problems with the SC washers or anything of that nature being the newer charger and so few hours besides...

    Looking for some ideas!

    Thanks

One thing i did think of, its the first time its been run this year....I dont know if the dealer changed the plugs that had the fogging oil them, nor do i know the quality of the gasoline in it other than that it was winterized at the end of last season by the dealer who sold it to me.

I would try fresh fuel and plugs and see what you get.

And also pop the seat and tighten the hose clamps between your supercharger and the throttle body.

You don't know for sure unless you check the slipping moment of the clutches.

Also make sure your oil is clean and at the RIGHT level... That will scrub about 200 rpms..
And We don't know your weather, water temps and elevation...

Ill check the oil level tomorrow, the oil was supposed to be fresh when i got it ... i bought it from a seadoo dealer who told me that it had the 'full service' done on it at the end of last season and hasnt been ridden this year (until today)

According to the dealer, they pulled the supercharger and 'inspected it'

Most people here will tell you dont trust the dealers. With only 24 hrs on the motor it is unlikely that the washers are slipping, but you never know. Like Craigo said check your SC hoses, they could be loose and like foggy said oil level could also be high, a common dealer mistake.

Best thing I ever did to my 08 setup was clean ALL of the oil out of the intake system, put a catch can on it and upgrade the supercharger seal. Max intake temp is 105. and it was 95 degrees outside a few times
