Question...how do performance/high octane domes work...what makes them result in higher compression?

Picture the domes as cereal bowls. The deeper the bowl, the lower the compression. The shallower the bowl, the higher the compression.
Reason being, is that you're now stuffing a smaller area with the shallower "bowl" resulting in higher compression. (simplistic, but you get the idea)
