    Fuel Gp1300r

    Hello i wondering if itīs necesarry to buy a Efi controller if i wanna ride with a d-plate,tuning airfilter and a freeflow exhaust? On my Gp1300r -08.

    No. It's not necessary at all with those mods.

    When i E-mailed Riva they told me thats it is necessary with a efi controller, but i guess they say that to sell parts, but i gets me wondering.
    It would be terribel if the engine broke down because a to lean fuel mixture.

    Check out the thread linked to in the post above you... it goes in to all this stuff in great detail.

    No need for an EFI controller unless you're advancing the timing, or raising your compression. Things like a D-plate, free flow, and an aftermarket filter just do not effect air fuel delivery enough to warrant an EFI controller.

    BTW - you're probably losing speed by going with the free flow exhaust with your minimal mods. Your engine, in stock form, depends on the back pressure provided by the factory exhaust. The free flow will make your ski sound mean, but you'll lose one or two mph on the top end.
