1997 Yamaha Wave Venture 1100 Solenoid Replacement
I am trying to replace the solenoid on this machine and finding it unsually difficult. The solenoid is in the eletrical box on the front of the engine. Just getting the 5 screws off that held the cover to the electrical box was a pain. There is little room between the cover and the gas tank. But I got it off. Then, removed the screws holding the black box under the cover - which I believe is the CDI. I can get to the solenoid hand but cant see it. Or, I can see it by looking across the gas tank from the the front cover opening - but then I can reach it. Sorry for the legnthy description.
Bottom line, what are the proper steps for replacing that solenoid. Should I have removed the electrical box from its mountings from the very begining. Please help!
