95 SLT 750 Lost 30% Power while I was riding it last weekend

I was towing a large tube last weekend on the second day of a three day outing when after about 5 minutes cruising along at full speed the ski bogged down instantly (seemed electrical) I have since checked compression and all cylinders are sparking strong. What could have happened? I ran the ski for a couple hours but it would never come to power (it would barely plane with 1 rider) all electrical inside box looks like new. PLEASE HELP

I looked at the grate from the bottom and through the back. I will take a very strong light to it tonight. There were a lot of carp in the area.

it sounds like u have a dead cylinder, what was your compression numbers ?, there could be a blockage in a carb(s), or the ignitions cutting out at high rpms, If you run it on the hose feel the temp on all cylinders, if ones cold that narrows it down and go from there

Mine did the same.. EXACT same. I looked around on this site and it says that if you oil gauge is stuck. And on your mfd or whatever it says oil, then it will RESTRICT the rpm to going higher then 4200, hope this hopes

Compression on all cylinders is 90. After running it today and having the rear cylinder cooler than the other 2 I also observed a little bit of fuel splashing in the throat of the third carb on acceleration. Long story short I tore into it today looking for a busted reed (which I hear very rarely happens) and sure enough 1 of the fins is broke off. I will try and attach a pic. Thanks again everyone for all the input.

Actually that is a common problem. Stock reeds are 15 yrs old with many hours of use on them.

Glad you found your issue though.
