    Water ingestion question

    Anyone run an open intake?

I have a new 2011 GTI 130, and bought the below intake for it. I boat in heavy chop (lake erie) and was wondering what the chances of water ingestion were. The GTI intake faces the front of the boat, so thats a plus. I believe the SC versions of seadoos have rear intakes, anyone running an open intake filter on the rear? I was thinking if necessary I could fabricate a metal shield around the lower half of the intake, about an inch away from the actual intake.

Well there is actually a filter on the the intake, its just connected to the engine, eliminating the intake silencer box and huge intake system. Im just wondering Since the intake filter is now in the engine compartment and open, the chances of water being ingested should there be any water in the craft, while jumping waves.
