    rave valve stupid question

    I'm sorry but I'm new and I'm trying to find out exactly what is it a rave valve does?
    Where it is and, well that's it i guess. thanks for the help guys.

    the rave valves are the little red and black caps on the top of the motor just before the exhaust manifold.

    The rave valve is always closed at idle. Therefor it produces a lot of bottom end. During the engine RPM get greater, the valve opens to provide a better flow, hereby improving top end.

    why would the caps have numbers written on them in white ink?

    it changes the exhaust port timing, closed for bottom end and open for top end
