    785 crank ?

    i know 750 and 780 is same crank....will it work in the 785 ??????
    i got a 785 with 3-4 bad bearing..
    have a couple of 750 and 780 cranks for spares but trying to put a 785 together now...

    Nope.

    650/750/780 is 65mm stroke.

    785 is 68mm stroke

    so is the crank,bearings,etc are the same... just a different rod ?

    yep all the bearings and washers and pins are the same

    some how the rods/bearing are still good on the 785 just got about 3 main bearings that are not.my machinist has changed out alot of rods his press will reach them just not the right tooling to go farther into the crank...

    Just keep in mind that the rod doesn't change the stroke, the crank web does! The 785 has a specific crank web that you must use because that determines the stroke...not one from a 750 or 780.

    so are the rods the same from a 780 to a 785? im trying to get this crank redone but its hard to come across parts the says they are for the 785 i need to know what to buy befor i take it to the shop cuz the guy ima have redo it said it would be cheaper if i got all the parts instead of him hunt them down

    SBT just listed new connecting rods for the 785's.

    LX, is your crank guy familiar with watercraft cranks? These are not something you want someone to "I'll give it a try" with....

    yep, pretty good price too. I already have a crank with these rods on there and they look as good if not better than the oem ones
