    Liquid filled trailer bearings

I noticed the bearings on the virages trailer has liquid filled bearings. This is the first time Ive seen this. How many of you have these type? All my other trailers have grease filled. Im planning a long trip, and was just wondering if they would be safe going 1400 miles one way.

I would assume that the manufacture of that trailer used oil bath bearings. This is a common practice on most trailers on semi trucks. You will be good to run as far as you want to go if they are filled. Does it have a rubber plug on the hub so you can add oil?

    It has metal plugs.

Sounds like they should pop out so you can add oil. Should be filled until oil starts to run out of the plug hole at all times if the plug is centered which it should be.

Plugs are threaded in, will take a allen wrench to remove them. Looks like the oil level is about 3/4 full. Guess Im gonna trust them for a long trip.

You will be fine. I would actually prefer the oil bath type over grease fittings for long trips.
