    L-Mode

I have a waverunner with the L-Mode option and I got my remote wet, does anyone know how to unlock the waverunner or do a easy by-pass to get it started until I can get it over to yamaha.

None that I know of. The yamaha's have 2 remotes so if you have the other I'd give it a try.

Will disconnecting the battery work? Maybe default it back to standard mode...

For the wet remote - open the case, remove the battery and shake out as much of the water as you can. Then put the open remote in a sealed zip-lock bag along with a cup of uncooked rice. The rice will absorb the remaining moisture and your remote should be working again by tomorrow morning. If you dropped it in salt water - I'd rinse it in freshwater before starting the above procedure.

No, disconnecting the battery won't do it. The ignition lock is controlled by a module to the front right of the gas tank which is independent of the system so unhooking the battery won't do anything.

I would use the method recommended above.

My VXR only came with one remote. Now you guys have me worried... why on earth wouldn't the remote be "fairly" waterproof? I just left mine in the little plastic baggy that it came in. I guess I'll have to put it in a true waterproof bag now.... ???

I think they're just "water resistant". I've dunked mine a couple of times by leaving it in my pocket when launching or loading - it's always worked regardless.

If you open up the remote you will see it is sealed with a blue rubber grommet. I would say its water resistant, not water proof.
