8200 RPM, only 57.5 MPH
Stock 2005 RXP. On nice calm water yesterday I was only able to get 57.5 MPH on my GPS, but I'm turning 8200 RPM.
Does the prop and wear ring make this big of a difference? I'm thinking I'm about 10MPH slower than I should be.
What else should I be checking?
Here's what my set up looked like when I pulled it off last week.

yes take a feeler gauge go around whole prop from the picture it looks alright some scratches make sure you dont have deep grooves (not good eyes either), Make sure prop spins freely check your carbon ring while your at it also make sure your hoses are all tight. If it was me I ditch that prop and get a solas

If your turning 8200 rpm your on the limiter...
Id be willing to bet thats not the stock rxp prop...sounds like it may be a rxt prop...

Rpms way up, speed way down....
I'd bet you are cavatating horribly.
1. wear ring damage. cavitation
2. impeller damage. cavitation
3. carbon seal bad. sucking air. cavitation

What exactly is cavitation and what are the signs I'd hear\notice??

It is a dog out of the hole, especially coming out of a hard turn.
What's a good prop replacement if I'm planning on sticking with a mostly stock set up?

i had the same exact problem on a 07 rxp. same rpm, same mph. did a prop and wear ring, problem solved. put in a solas 14/19.
