Can you put 1000 hours on these late model four-strokes??

If properly taken care of. I have an 07 fxho. Love it.

You've got one of the best motors to do it with... Leave it stock and do the required maintance... 500 is pretty easy from what I've seen.

I rented a VX110 in Puerto Rico last yeat that had 1100 hours on the orig engine. Bone Stock. They said they changed the oil and spark plugs at specified intervals and that's it. That's all salt water hours too . . . . I think that's amazing.

+1, and I have heard of even more hours too. This is the proving ground where Yamahas earn their keep; the rental industry. Durability is not an option, it's required.

+1 and those rental places rearly flush their ski. I saw a rental place in Marco island take one of their skis after a renter sank it just remove the air filter and it started right up, that was back in 2006 I went straight to Riva and bought my first Yamaha wave runner and it was an FX-HO 160, Julio...

Just to give you an idea of perspective, I just looked at my 2004 Chevy Avalanche. It has 82,000 miles and it is at 2248 hours. Those are freeway miles, not the marine constant load hours so 3400 = wow!

On motor forums I've seen reports of Yamaha street bikes hitting 100k miles with few problems. R1 and R6 even, and those are pretty high strung motors
