Question SHO valve train upgrade options

I see Riva has a complete kit with springs, washers, and retainers while R&D has just dual springs no retainers. The R&D retainer cups must be purchased separetly which brings the cost close the Riva Kit. I'm upgrading to a R3 ECU with a ET LB wheel, and I'm worried about floating a valve. I've heard/read a few stories of people losing their motor due to spikes in RPM when coming unhooked. Does anyone know of any other options or kits?

Rius Racing also has a kit, but I run the RIVA and I haven't had any problems since.

Rius Racing kit looks nice $525!

I remember reading that thread that MikeFZR posted and wondered if others have had problems with the timing chain breaking....hmmm
