Question Whats this for on 701 exhaust manifold???

Hi, just looking at putting my WRIII 701 project back together but not sure what this hole is for (previous owner had already dismantled exhaust)? There is a brass insert in there, should it be plugged or does something connect to it?

Ah ok, but I thought the flush line connected to the head (all water pipes were off and/or missing when I got it) ? Have drilled and re-tapped it but cant see the hose fitting that goes in there on the parts diagram, would it have been an aftermarket part?

Does that fitting just get T'eed into the flush hose so it connects to the head and the exhaust?

    Many thanks!
