    Sigh...bought a 250x

    13 weeks ago I bought a '06 STX-15f and my dipshit buddy bought a '01 GPR1200.

He blew up his GPR....twice. On the second go round he bought a NOS '09 FZS. Obviously I couldn't keep up with him and he got great delight in spraying me with 100 gallons of water.

    Today I got a great deal on a friend's dad's 07 250x w/ 37 hours on it (he's 70 so I know it wasn't ridden hard).

Went out and Dipshit pulled the holeshot and I couldn't keep up. Three times.

    Bastard.

Ask your friend to race you in the ocean next time and I suspect the results will be different .

PS: Am I understanding you correctly that your friend is running nitrous in his ski? Is he nuts or something? Chances are he is going to blow this one up as well...

for about 250 bucks you could probably change that, unless he as some good mods.

Agreed, the 6* timing mod, dual-feed IC, RAM air mod, and Riva ride plate should put you at 70mph+ vs 67-68mph for a stock FZ. Now if he mods his you will have a problem...

my stock 110 hr. 250X ran within .5 mph of of our NOS FZS in flat water, as soon at it got choppy it was in my dust. Riva ride plate on the 250 added 2 mph, but I didn't like the way it handled. Doing all the free mods added 1.5 mph. get yourself a piece of SS pipe off e-bay and do the 2nd water box delete, I never did the timing mod but it is said to be good for another 1.5. should put the ski 69-70 and beat a stock 67-68 fzs at everything except fuel economy...
