Is this going to be a problem?

Yesterday we went out riding for about 4 hours.
My wife said the overheating light came on the 2009 FZS.
I took a peak through the intake and look what i found.
Do I need to clean this out ASAP or can it wait?
the intake grate has some adhesive around the bolts, so I didn't want to take it off.
    Looks like fishing line.

Get it out! Just reseal it when your done. Check the inlet strainer and flush the machine.

I think what you see is silicone. Let me know if you think otherwise.
Speaking of Silicone, what type do I use to reseal the intake grate?

use 3M 4200 fast cure to seal the grate. Or 5200 FC will work.

Unless you run a pump seal kit, 5200 won't be an issue on the stock grate. The majority of the silicone is going around the bolt holes and the front mounting surface. I would say 4200 would be preferable, but 5200 can still be used if you can't get the 4200 FC

Wait a second.....Reinstall a stock grate on an FZS?

Step 2. Install aftermarket intake grate, such as R&D Aquavein
