any gains with removing factory rideplate shims on fzr?

im going with a modded vx plate soon but im wondering how much gain if any can be had with removing the stock shims and will it cause it to bounce?

Jerry recommended removing them increases speed in his fzr build thread. Personally, I never got a chance to try it because I went right to a modded vx plate. I have no idea how much speed you will gain, maybe an mph.

Are you referring to the stock Fz plate? If so, One of the first mods I did 2 years ago was removing the factory shims and used .90 washers under the front bolts. It was good for 1.5mph gain and the ride was still decent with the occasional bounce. Give it a try. Only takes 10 min and it's free.
