    virage will not rev over 4000 rpm in water

    I have a 2002 varige...i rebuilt the carb changed the fuel lines and set the low idle screw..i also cleaned all old gas out of tank. my problem is on the water it will only run about 4000 rpm with speed of only 15 mph...what can be my problem what do i check next?? on land it will run around 7600 rpm with no problem and always starts right up...HELP!

    New spark plugs ?
    Any warnings/red flashing light ?
    There should be a limiter, but it should be 3500 rpm. Limits for temp-oil=fuel level.

    spark plugs are not new...low fuel but full of oil...on land it runs close to 8000 RPM in water only 350o RPM

    on the trailer doesn't tell you anything since there isn't a load on the engine.

    I'm betting one of the cyl's isn't firing. After you run it... are all the sparkplugs warm?
