    Which VX Plate?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I could not find the answer.... For an 09 FZR, which year VX Ride Plate do I buy. According to the OEM Parts Finder on here, the 2009 VX Plates are $237.60 (#36)

    http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....=13&A=166&B=22

    ...and the 2011 plates are $152.82 (#38..)

    http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....=13&A=187&B=23

Does it matter what year I get?....Also, what is the consensus for shimming a stock VX Plate on a FZR???...It seems there are some mixed results on here with the best setup.

    Thanks Guys!

    Mike

I got mine from Riva and it was the more expensive one. But more importantly, the vx plate got an updated part number because it is the same plate as the VXR plate.

Ive shimmed mine, but it runs fast and with very little bounce with no shims. IMO try it with no shims first and then fine tune it from there.

Stalker; mine runs quick with no shims, you may need to experiment as these FZ's respond differently one ski to the next, also rider weight plays a role!

There is one in the classifieds used. I bought one from the same seller, I hope to strap it in this week.

Just call Riva. I'm almost certain they are the same. Rush confirmed this is another thread.

According to OEM Parts Finder, the 2010 and 2011 part number are the same.....the 2009 is different:

    2009- F1K-U273B-04-00

    2010- F2N-U273B-00-00

    2011- F2N-U273B-00-00

It was probably just a part number change in 2010. If I am thinking of the thread you are talking about Mike "VX Ride Plate Results", I want to say that the part number change was confirmed??

When I ordered my plate from Riva I gave them the plate number for a 2009 vx plate (f1k u273b 04 00) and the updated plate I got was number f1k u273b 06 00 which is the VXR/s ride plate which comes with spacers. Hope that helps.
