    Possible Cavation Issue?

Just replaced the motor on my 96 XP and now when I get on the throttle it winds up for a second then takes off? Any Ideas here?

    What is your impeller clearance?

I apologize for not really knowing what you mean by this but im a little new when it comes to jetskis. I do know what the impeller is but do you mean from the wear ring or something else because I can always check that i dont have an issue doing?

Check the clearance between the outside of the impeller blades and the wear ring. Compare that to the max allowable clearance in the manual. Also check the condition of both. There should be signs of wear where the blades meet the ring, but it shouldn't be all tore up.

I doubt this would be the problem if it just started after rebuilding the motor, but the symptoms sound like a badly worn wear ring.

Thanks for the input, I was actually going to replace the wear ring either way since I just bought the ski and its was sitting for 3 years before i got it and want it to be like it was new so that I can compair everything. Again Thank you!
